Your first visit to Zen Core Wellness Center establishes a vital foundation for our relationship with you. During your first visit, we make sure to obtain important background information about your medical history and give you time to get to know your doctor.
I feel strongly confident to recommend Dr. Bryan Hoffman as a primary doctor. He has been my family’s doctor for over 10 years now. With a family of six, he has been able to approach all of our medical and health needs, not only did he diagnose my third child with tracheomalacia when she was a newborn, but he has also helped my husband, my son and myself in many different ways like teaching us how to use health supplements and healthy ways to eat that truly help our bodies. But the most recent experience was saving my oldest daughter’s life by detecting a tumor and fluid in her brain. She had to get brain surgery, but fortunately, she has been cleared by the neurosurgeon now. He is a very thorough doctor, and also makes sure we understand his directions. He has always met our expectations when we come to the office, and all his treatments have worked for us. My family and I are very grateful to be under his care.
In 2014 I started having kidney stones, I got diagnosed with high blood pressure, I was told I was pre-diabetic, and I was put on birth control because I was bleeding for 3 weeks at a time. After going through 2 years of trial and error on all kinds of pills I started going to see different doctors because the kidney stones kept coming back and every 2 or 3 months I was in the hospital either getting lithotripsy, or with kidney infections and on two hospitalizations, I was close to septic shock. In 2016 I was put on depression medication, hormones, and more pills to try and stop the kidney stones from forming. I went to see a nephrologist and different urologist all so they could tell me I had no hope. and that’s just how I was going to be for the rest of my life. I tried every diet out there, pills for weight loss because at this point I wasn’t just pre-diabetic but full diabetic, the dosage of blood pressure pills was increased, more prescription pills were given to me, and I just lost hope more and more. I became so depressed that I did not want to keep living that way. I could not take care of my kids, and my hormones were all over the place so, I was put on hormones to try and stop the bleeding, which made me swollen and worse so, I had to get a partial hysterectomy. Every day I was worse and worse with kidney stones, kidney infections, I was taking 8 to 10 prescription pills for diabetes, high blood pressure, kidneys, allergies, depression, and not to mention all the pain meds so I could function a little from the kidney stone pain.
After all those pills, about 9 lithotripsies, a hysterectomy, and many many many rounds of antibiotics, and when I say antibiotic I mean I was on them for about 3-4 weeks at a time, in 2018 my primary doctor sent me to see Dr. Hoffman, and that’s when my life began to change. For the first time in 4 years, I wasn’t told I was hopeless, I wasn’t told that there was nothing to do, and for the first time, I didn’t get another pill. Dr. Hoffman said I had hope, and it was a simple fix (not easy) but simple. He told me to follow the AIP (Autoimmune protocol) and told me what vitamins my body needed. I followed everything exactly like he told me and 8 months later I’m no longer diabetic, or pre-diabetic, I’m actually living, I lost 30 lbs, I’m down to 3 prescription pills, I no longer take any pain medications, I haven’t been on any antibiotics, no more kidney stones, and no more visits to the hospital. If God had not put Dr. Hoffman in my life, I do not know how much longer I could have kept going the way I was going because, for a while, I started thinking that dying was a better way than to keep suffering the way I was. I got my life back!!!

Dr. Hoffman is knowledgeable in functional medicine, and that, combined with his traditional medical background and training, is an incredible asset. He provides education and coaching to optimize my physical health and well-being. It’s been a wonderful benefit and of immense value, as I work on implementing his suggestions.

After following the prescribed supplements and anti-inflammation diet, I have been in full remission of my Ulcerative Colitis symptoms. I have nearly eliminated my prescription medications, I have more energy than I’ve had in years, I sleep great, I’ve lost weight, and I’m excited about my health again.
